Isaac "Pit Bull" Pavlik Takes Bite Oout of Quebec

Little Falls, NJ - The Jackals avenged last night disappointing loss with a dominating victory 6-0 tonight over the Capitales de Quebec. Everything seemed to be going right for the Jackals, and it all started with their pitching and Isaac Pavlik.
Pavlik, the team's ace, was almost untouchable in his 8 shutout innings of work, allowing just 4 hits and striking out 6. This was Pavlik's second straight stellar performance of the season but only his first win, improving his record to 1-0.
In addition to Pavlik's performance, the defense behind him was impenetrable. After committing 4 errors in the first game of this series, the Jackals eliminated any defensive flaws as they played a perfect game in the field.
Francisco Leandro, the teams right fielder and lead off hitter, had the highlight play of the night as he scaled the wall to make a tremendous catch in the seventh inning robbing Capitales catcher Greg Stevens of an extra base hit.
Offensively the Jackals jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead in the bottom of the second inning when left fielder Jud Thigpen blasted an opposite field homerun over the right field wall. The home run was Thigpen's second of the season. Thigpen would record his third RBI in the sixth inning when he pushed across third baseman Sandy Madera.
The big inning for the Jackals came in the bottom of the seventh. Center fielder Tim Turner manufactured a run after an infield single and a stolen base. Madera would drive him in with a sacrifice fly. Leandro would drive one of his two singles on the day to right field, and designated hitter Alex Frazier would scorch a double down the left field line leaving runners on second and third.
Matt Lauderdale, the offensive hero of the game, would then drive both runners in with a base hit in the left field gap. He would finish the game 3-4 with a run and two RBI's.
Pavlik earned the victory and lowered his ERA to .64 in the process.
Michel Simard suffered the loss for Quebec.
