Leading the way at the plate for the Surf was 3B Anthony Granato, who finished the game 1-for-4 with a home run and two RBI. Brockton 2B Eugene Julien turned in a good game in the losing effort. Worcester 18, New Haven Co. 0

@ Worcester, MA. Time: 2:58 Attendance: 1,455

W: Mike Meagher (1-0) L: Jeff Farrell (0-1) S: None

HR: WT-Chris Colabello 3(3), Yohanny Valera (1)

The Worcester Tornadoes got their first win of the season in a very big way behind the record-setting efforts of 1B Chris Colabello. Colabello set Can-Am League records in home runs in a game with three, RBI in a game with 10 and 13 total bases. His three homers also tied the record for most extra base hits in a game. When all was said and done, Colabello was 4-for-6 and the Tornadoes had themselves a win by a lopsided margin. The beneficiary of such run support was starting pitcher Mike Meagher who allowed just three hits in six scoreless innings and struck out eight to improve to 1-0.

Nagasaka pitched five innings, allowing two runs and striking out eight to pick up his first win this season. Sussex RF B.J. Richmond led the way for the Skyhawks offensively, going 2-for-4 in the losing effort.
