Kannapolis Cannon Ballers News Release

Kannapolis, NC – The I's beat up Delmarva's bullpen and won game one of their four game series with the Shorebirds 9-5. Trailing 5-4 in the bottom of the sixth the I's chased left handed starter Carlos Perez when David Cook reached on an error. K-town mowed through two more pitchers in the inning, sent nine men to the plate and scored four runs to take a commanding 8-5 lead.

The I's tacked on another run in a rally that was cut short by a triple play in the seventh and won 9-5. Michael Moat (4-0) got the victory. Carlos Jan (0-2) took the loss. Javier Castillo led the I's offense going 2-3 with a double, two runs, and an RBI.

Behind LHP Ray Liotta (2-0 2.53) the I's took a 2-0 lead on back to back RBI hits by Castillo and Chris Kelly in the bottom of the second. Delmarva tied in with one in the third and another in the fifth. The I's extended with another two runs in the fifth inning before the Shorebirds scored three in the sixth to take their one and only lead at 5-4.

The I's and Shorebirds go again tomorrow morning with an education day start 10:05 am RHP Adam Russell (1-3 3.79) against RHP Dennis Robinson (1-3 3.76). All of the Intimidators action is available on www.intimidatorsbaseball.com.
