Lehigh Valley IronPigs News Release
(Allentown, Pa.) -- The Lehigh Valley IronPigs have finalized the 2008 promotional schedule for their inaugural season. The list is highlighted by 18 fireworks shows, nearly three dozen overall giveaway nights - including three bobblehead nights, three baseball giveaways, four pint glass giveaways - and appearances by numerous national entertainment acts including the world's most famous mascot, The Phillie Phanatic.
"I challenge anyone to try and find a better promotional schedule in all of Minor League Baseball. In terms of quality of entertainment, amount of giveaway nights and quantities of items, we feel confident in saying that our fans are receiving the top-notch promotional schedule in the country," said IronPigs General Manager Kurt Landes. "I have colleagues who are surprised we're placing so much emphasis on our promotional schedule for an inaugural season -- when tickets sales are inherently strong. But our mission has always been to provide fans the best ballpark experience...and that starts from Day One."
The IronPigs home opener is scheduled for April 11, at 7:05 p.m. against the defending International League Champion Richmond Braves. All fans in attendance will receive a commemorative Opening Day ticket and special frame and be treated to a post-game fireworks extravaganza.
Every Friday home game will feature a spectacular post-game fireworks display as part of Friday Night Fireworks presented by Chevrolet. Also, in the days leading up to July 4, the IronPigs will celebrate Independence Day with back-to-back fireworks presentations on July 2 and July 3. The show on July 3 will be a unique 3-D fireworks extravaganza presented by AT&T. The other fireworks shows will take place on Sunday, May 25 (6:05 p.m.); Thursday, June 12 (7:05 p.m.); Thursday, July 17 (7:05 p.m.); Saturday, August 2 (7:05 p.m.); Saturday, August 16 (7:05 p.m.) and; Thursday, August 28 (7:05 p.m.).

Additional bobblehead nights for children 12 and under will occur on June 29 and August 9 when the IronPigs honor two of the brightest young stars in baseball -- 2006 National League MVP Ryan Howard and two-time All-Star, Chase Utley, respectively.
The first of four unique Pint Glass giveaways for the first 2,500 adults (21 and older) is April 17. The Pint Glass series continues throughout the summer, with additional giveaways lined up for May 15, July 23 and August 26.
A trio of baseball giveaways for the first 3,500 fans in attendance will be given away at Coca-Cola Park on May 10, June 17 and July 22.
