
Bats Knock Off Tribe 4-1 In Spring Training Opener

BRADENTON, Fla. -- Louisville scored three runs in the top of the fourth en route to a 4-1 victory over Indianapolis Thursday afternoon at Pirate City.
1B Justin Tordi brought home Louisville's first two runs with a single before CF Shaun Cumberland capped the inning with an RBI base knock. Bats DH Kevin Barker, who played for the Tribe in 2000-01, went 2-for-3 with an RBI double.
3B Jason Bowers led the Indians by going 2-for-3 with an RBI double.
Louisville LHP Chris Michalak (2.0 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 2 SO) picked up the win, while Indianapolis LHP Corey Hamman (2.0 IP, 4 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 1 BB) suffered the loss. Bats RHP Brock Till worked the ninth to earn the save.
LHP Dave Davidson (1.0 IP), RHP Romulo Sanchez (1.0 IP, 2 SO) and RHP Jesse Chavez (1.0 IP, 2 SO) each worked a scoreless inning for the Tribe.
