
Knights Host Nights of Giveaways and Givebacks

FORT MILL, S.C. - March 13, 2008 - The 2008 baseball season is right around the corner and the Charlotte Knights are gearing up for another year of big promotions. The Knights are working with many organizations to help bring baseball fans the best summer entertainment in the Piedmont and also help the community along the way.
Every Friday during the season will feature a different giveaway item for fans courtesy of the Knights' sponsors. Among the items: lunch boxes, baseball cards, caps, wiffle bat and ball, seat cushions and comic books. In all, the Knights will feature more than 24 different giveaways and pass out more than 50,000 items during the season.
The Knights will have 12 firework shows for their fans. Fireworks are presented by Bank of America and will take place at the conclusion of every Saturday home game, as well as July 4th and Opening Day.
"Baseball reaches further than what is on the field," said Dan Rajkowski, Vice-President/General Manger of the Charlotte Knights. "We have a great opportunity this year to give to our fans and to help organizations reach their respective goals to help others."
The Knights will have several themed nights including:
- Pink Knights- May 10: The Charlotte Knights are hosting their 3rd annual fundraiser, "Pink Knights." Last year the team raised $10,253 for the American Cancer Society's Making Strides Against Breast Cancer.
- All Star Days- April 29 and 30: This game features 11:15 start, and will feature a pre-game program to teach kids about the dangers of drugs and alcohol.
- Girl Scouts Sleepover-May 30, Boy Scouts Sleepover- June 6: Scouts get to camp out on the field after the game.
- 4th of July- July 4th: Once again the Knights and Bank of America will host the area's biggest fireworks show.
- The JDRF Swing to Cure Diabetes-Aug 2: A portion of ticket proceeds will be donated in the fight against diabetes. Also features a silent auction for player's autographed jersey.
- Kids Run the Bases-every Sunday home game: Throughout the season kids will have the opportunity to run the bases after the game.
