Lehigh Valley IronPigs News Release

(Allentown, Pa.) - An astonishing 9,227 fans frequented Coca-Cola Park per game in 2010, making the highly-acclaimed venue the most visited in all of Minor League Baseball, the IronPigs announced following their sold-out season finale on Monday afternoon. In total, the IronPigs drew a franchise record 645,905 fans during their All-Star season - a 1% increase over last season's per-game attendance of 9,162 patrons per contest. The accomplishment is even more noteworthy when considering that the Lehigh Valley is just the 27th largest market among the 30 Triple-A locales.

"We have never been more proud of our community and our extremely loyal fan base. As evidenced by the record-breaking turnout this year, we are 100% convinced that our fans are the very best in all of Minor League Baseball," exclaimed IronPigs General Manager Kurt Landes. "Our organization is happier than a pig in slop that so many people have chosen Coca-Cola Park for a convenient, affordable and enjoyable sports and entertainment experience."

Named Ballpark Digest's "Ballpark of the Year" in 2008, Coca-Cola Park continues to be received with an unmatched level of excitement and fanfare in the Lehigh Valley and surrounding regions. Since 2008, the IronPigs have now drawn 1,889,273 fans to the foremost baseball and entertainment venue in the Minors. Since the franchise's inception the team has averaged 8,954 per game - a number that actually exceeds Coca-Cola Park's fixed seating capacity of 8,089. Every seat in the ballpark has been sold for 168 of 211 all-time regular season games - including 41 consecutive games and 60 of 70 during the 2010 season -- with 58 all-time capacity crowds of 10,000.

The return of professional baseball to the Lehigh Valley for the first time since 1960 was met with remarkable community support, unprecedented excitement and unrivaled fanfare in 2008. By becoming one of just six Minor League franchises to surpass the 600,000 mark for total attendance, the IronPigs emerged as one of the top draws and premier franchises in Minor League Baseball. Coca-Cola Park became an overnight sensation and drew rave reviews for its intimacy, fan-friendly atmosphere and architectural design.

The excitement level reached its apex in 2010 as the IronPigs hosted the sold-out Triple-A All-Star Game presented by Lehigh Valley Health Network that was televised live to a national audience on MLB Network for the first-time ever. During the All-Star festivities, the IronPigs also hosted a sold-out 2010 Home Run Derby and sold more than 10,000 tickets for the "Pigapalooza" All-Star FanFest event also held at Coca-Cola Park.

Minor League Baseball consists of 160 affiliated clubs throughout North America. The top 3 draws in terms of average attendance are listed below:
