The IronPigs (64-56) play Game One of a two-game series against the (tied for) fifth-place Syracuse Chiefs (58-61) at Coca-Cola Park... With a 10-1 rains-shortened loss to Buffalo last night, the Pigs snapped their five-game home winning streak and split the two-game series with the Bisons. The Pigs have gone just 14-21 in their last 35 contests --- going from a season-high 3.0-games up to 2.0-games back in the North... Buffalo -- the Mets' top affiliate -- has now dropped three of its last four games. Once 49-45 on July 14, the Bisons have gone just 9-16 in their last 25 affairs (thru 8/9).

RHP Jonathan Pettibone (1-0, 4.09) will make his home debut for LHV against RHP Tanner Roark (6-13, 4.73).

First-Pitch tonight is set for 7:05 p.m...

TIGHT WINS, LOOSE LOSSES...:

With a 10-1 loss last night, the Pigs had their 4th worst loss if the season by margin of deficit -- they've had losses of 13 (6/30 vs. PAW), 11 (4/25 vs. BUF) and 10 (6/14 vs. DUR)... In fact, since 6/30 -- when the team has gone 18-22 -- the Pigs average margin of victory in 2.8 R/G (51/18) while the average margin of loss is 4.0 R/G (87/22).

* Further, the Pigs have had 3 victories of 4+ R (22%) as compared to 11 losses of 4+ R (50%) during this 40-G span...
