IronPigs Game Notes

May 27, 2012 - International League (IL1)
Lehigh Valley IronPigs News Release

The IronPigs (28-21) play the finale of a four-game series against the second-place Charlotte Knights (27-23) at Knights Stadium... With an 3-2 loss last night, the Pigs have dropped three straight games to start 0-3 on this eight-game South Division road trip. Still, Lehigh Valley has gone 10-6 in their last 16 contests... The Knights -- the White Sox top affiliate -- have won a season-high tying four-straight games, which had been last accomplished (April 16-19). They also went four games above .500 for the first time since in 2012. Previously, they had never been more than three games above .500 or more than three games below .500 this season.

RHP Scott Elarton (5-1, 2.98) will start for LHV against LHP Charlie Leesman (3-4, 2.36).

First-Pitch tonight is scheduled for 7:15 p.m... The Pigs next travel to Gwinnett to start a four-game series Monday.

THE PIGS NEED A WIN TONIGHT TO...:

* To avoid losing a season-high 4 straight games (they're on their 4th, 3-G skid)... the last time they've lost 4 straight was 8/29/11-8/31/11.

* To avoid being swept for the first time ever by CHA... and for the first time in a 4-G series since 2010 (8/5-8/8/10 vs. GWN).

* To avoid being swept on the road in a 4-G series for the first time since 5/27/10-5/30/10 @ COL (swept in a 2-G, 4/20-4/22/12 @ ROC).
