Lehigh Valley IronPigs News Release
Following a day off on Monday, the IronPigs (13-11) play Game One of a four-game series against the Charlotte Knights (13-12) at Coca-Cola Park... With an 8-2 loss on Sunday, the Pigs lost the final three games of their four-game "road" series versus Scranton/WB -- dropping their third consecutive series. The Pigs have managed just a 3-9 record after starting 10-2 -- the best start for a Phillies Triple-A affiliate since prior to the Scranton/WB Red Barons days (1989-06)... The Knights -- the White Sox top affiliate -- lost 12-4 last night at Syracuse to split a four-game series at Alliance Bank Stadium. The Knights have gone 9-5 since starting 4-7.
RHP Scott Elarton (1-1, 4.12) will start for LHV against RHP Terry Doyle (1-1, 3.63).
Tonight is Vance Worley Bobblehead Doll Giveaway Night. First-Pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
DON'T FRET, STILL BEST START YET:
Despite the recent string, the Pigs are tied for the best start in LHV history -- when they went 13-11 through 24 games in 2011.
