Lehigh Valley IronPigs News Release
The fifth-place IronPigs (35-53) play the finale of a mini two-game series against the second-place Syracuse Chiefs (50-39) -- Washington's top affiliate. With a 9-0 loss last night, the 'Pigs have dropped two straight following their (tied for) season-high, three-game winning streak. Lehigh Valley is just 5-12 in its last 17 contests... Syracuse, which swept a two-game series in the Valley 7/1-7/2, has gone just 9-10 in its last 19 affairs -- going from first place to 2.5 GB in the North behind SWB.
LHP J.A. Happ (0-0, 5.79) will start for LHV against RHP Erik Arnesen (2-5. 5.22).
First-Pitch is at 7 p.m... The Pigs will next go to SWB for a doubleheader tomorrow at 5:35 p.m.
