Lehigh Valley IronPigs News Release
Down to their final 12 games of the regular season, the Pigs (68-64) play Game Two of a four-game road series -- and a seven-game "home-and-home" series -- against the tied for fourth-place Buffalo Bisons (67-65)... With a 5-1 win last night, the Pigs passed the Bisons in the standing to claim at least sole possession of third place for the first time since they were in second place on July 13. The Pigs have won eight of their last 12 contests and improved to 15-10 in their last 25 affairs... The Bisons -- Toronto's top affiliate -- have now dumped four consecutive games and have fallen back to fourth place in the North. Still, the Herd is 17-14 since dropping below .500 (50-51) on July 22... The Pigs won the last series in Buffalo, 3-1, from June 4-7.
LHP Greg Smith (8-2, 2.43) will start for LHV against RHP Thad Weber (6-4, 2.63).
First-Pitch tonight is set for 7:05 p.m. at Coca-Cola Field.
