August 23, 2013 - International League (IL1)
Durham Bulls News Release
DURHAM, NC - The International League South Division Champion Durham Bulls return to the DBAP on Saturday for their final homestand of the regular season, a four-game slate that features visits from the Norfolk Tides and Charlotte Knights.
The last homestand of 2013 gets started with a bang on Saturday, August 24. The 7:05pm game between the Bulls and Norfolk Tides, Triple-A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles, is Fan Appreciation Day presented by Chevrolet. During the game, an auction will be held for the Bull Durham throwback jerseys the team has worn throughout the season in tribute to the 25th Anniversary of the film. Proceeds from the auction will go towards the Explorer Post 50 Scholarship Fund, helping to send members of the Bulls' high school-aged television broadcast crew to college.
Saturday night's game will feature the final postgame Fireworks show of the season. Also following the game, Great Outdoor Provision Company presents the third Camp Out Night of the season, where girl scout groups will spend the night in the DBAP outfield.
On Sunday, August 25, the Bulls wrap their two-game set against the Tides. The 5:05pm game presented by Durham Marriott City Center features the very last Pepsi Kids Run the Bases event.
The Charlotte Knights come to town on Monday, August 26 to begin the second series of the homestand. Monday's 7:05pm game against the Chicago White Sox affiliate is presented by Strayer University. It will also be Recycling Night presented by YP Holdings, as fans who bring an old copy of the Yellow Pages to the recycling table by the box office get a complimentary ticket voucher for this game.
The final regular season home game of 2013 is on Tuesday, August 27 and features AAA Membership Card Night. Fans who show their AAA Membership Card can buy one Terrace Reserved ticket and get one, courtesy of AAA Carolinas.
The Bulls then finish the regular season on the road before beginning their postseason quest for a Triple-A National Championship. First round playoff games, presented by Sport Durst Automotive Group, will be hosted at the DBAP on Wednesday, September 4 (Game 1) and Thursday, September 5 (Game 2). Durham will face the International League West Division champ in the best-of-five series.
The Durham Bulls return home to the DBAP on Saturday, August 24 to begin their final homestand of the regular season. Tickets for the last four remaining regular season home games, as well as tickets for the 2013 Governors' Cup Playoffs, are available at durhambulls.com, by phone at 919.956.BULL, and at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park box office.
