IronPigs claim series win over Syracuse

(Syracuse, NY) - Lehigh Valley IronPigs (11-7) starting pitcher Bailey Falter (1-0) earned his first AAA win in a dominant way as he struck out seven batters over five innings to lead the Pigs to a 7-2 win over the Syracuse Mets (4-14).

Mickey Moniak hit an RBI single against former Phillies pitcher Franklyn Kilome (0-1) in the top of third inning to give Lehigh Valley a 1-0 lead. Cornelius Randolph followed up with a two-run double against Kilome to extend the lead to 3-0. Randolph extended his hitting streak to eight games.

Lehigh Valley extended their lead to 6-0 against Kilome in the top of the sixth when Ryan Cordell hit a three-run home run. The home run for Cordell was his third of the season. Kilome allowed six runs through 5 2/3 innings.

Nick Meyer got Syracuse on the scoreboard in the bottom of the sixth inning when he hit an RBI double against Mauricio Llovera. It cut the lead to 6-1 for the IronPigs. Austin Listi gave the IronPigs a six-run lead in the top of the seventh inning when he hit an RBI single against Marcel Renteria.

Quinn Brodey cut the IronPigs lead to 7-2 in the bottom of the eighth inning when he hit an RBI single against David Paulino. Jeff Singer earned his second save of the season.

The IronPigs return home to Coca-Cola Park to begin a six-game homestand on Tuesday against the Worcester Red Sox. First pitch on Tuesday evening is at 7:05 p.m.
