Iowa Wolves Claim 117-102 Win over Memphis Hustle

DES MOINES, Iowa - After nearly a month away from Wells Fargo Arena, the Iowa Wolves used a monster fourth quarter in a 117-102 victory over the Memphis Hustle in G League regular season action on Thursday night.

Iowa (3-0), which last played at Wells Fargo Arena on Dec. 16, had seven players, including all five starters score double figures in the comeback win. Reserves Isaiah Briscoe with a game-high 23 points and Canyon Barry with 14 points sparked the Wolves off the bench and helped erase a nine-point deficit early in the final quarter.

Memphis (0-2) was held to just 19 points in the fourth quarter as Iowa poured in 40 points in the period. Briscoe and Barry scored 11 and eight points, respectively, in the fourth. Vincent Edwards, who stuffed the stat sheet in the game with a double-double of 11 points and a season-high 11 rebounds, was also clutch in fourth pulling down key rebounds and winning a critical jump ball late with the Hustle trying to comeback. Edwards added a season-best six assists.

As a team, Iowa blistered the nets, shooting 54.4 percent from the floor and 44.9 percent from three. The Wolves made a season-high 17 three-pointers as Briscoe and McKinley Wright IV, who had 18 points, each knocked down four. Seven Wolves made at least one three-pointer. Iowa turned the basketball over 18 times in the first half but had just three turnovers after halftime. Iowa used runs to end the second quarter and the third to springboard its fourth quarter effort.

Jordy Tshimanga had a big game with a season-high 17 points to go with seven rebounds. Brian Bowen II just missed another double-double with 14 points and eight rebounds. Matt Lewis chipped in 11 points while Brandon Sampson, who missed the first two games of the regular season due to injury, had seven points in limited minutes.

Following Thursday's home game, Iowa travels to California for a pair of games, first taking on the South Bay Lakers on Jan. 16 at 7 p.m. CT followed by a clash with the Stockton Kings on Jan. 18 at 9 p.m. CT. The game against the Lakers will be streamed on NBAGLeague.com while the contest with the Kings will be on ESPN+.
