DES MOINES, IA - Iowa Stars Director of Hockey Operations Scott White announced today that the Iowa Stars have signed Right Wing Jamie Tardif (TAR-diff) to a Professional Tryout Contract (PTO).

A native of Welland, Ontario, Tardif began the 2006-07 season, his first as a professional, with the Toldeo Storm of the ECHL. In 25 games with the Storm, he has averaged a point per-game notching nine goals and 16 assists: 25(9/16/25). The 6-0, 205-pounder also appeared in one game for the Manitoba Moose this season, recording no points.

Drafted by the Calgary Flames in the fourth round of the 2003 NHL Entry Draft, he played five junior seasons with the Peterborough Petes of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL). He had 291 points, including 155 goals in 324 games with Peterborough: 324(155/136/291). He was born on January 23rd, 1985.

IOWA STARS INFO: After playing in Omaha on the 29th, the Stars return home for a Saturday, December 30th contest with the Milwaukee Admirals. Face-off is slated for 7:00 PM. The ImaginEve New Year's Eve festivities continue into the evening at Wells Fargo Arena when the Stars host the Omaha Ak-Sar-Ben Knights again on New Year's Eve, Sunday, December 31st. The New Year's Eve game will have a special 7:30 PM start time. The world famous ZOOperstars will be on hand to entertain fans throughout the game. Special reduced tickets for the New Year's Eve game will be available to purchase at the Stars box office for just $5.00 for all children who attend the alcohol-free GuideOne ImaginEve event at Hy-Vee Hall from 2 - 6:30 PM!
