Kannapolis Cannon Ballers News Release

HAGERSTOWN, MD - Stephen Sauer and the Kannapolis bullpen performed admirably on Tuesday night at Municipal Stadium to help the Intimidators to a 4-2 win over the Suns.

The Intimidators moved to 7-3 in games in which Sauer has started, as the 22-year-old right-hander allowed just two runs in six innings of work. Sauer (4-2) also struck out seven batters while walking two.

But Sauer also got some serious help from his mates in the bullpen. Charlis Burdie threw two perfect innings before giving way to closer Dan Remenowsky. Remenowsky struck out two and pitched a 1-2-3 ninth inning for his 11th save of the season.

Kannapolis (3-2, 40-35) struck first with two runs in the top of the first. All four of the Intimidators runs scored without an RBI hit. Kannapolis used three RBI groundouts and a Derek Norris throwing error to push across four runs against Ricardo Pecina.

Pecina (0-2) gave up four runs, two earned, on six hits in five innings. He also struck out six and walked one while taking the loss.
