Intimidators Get Strong Pitching To End Losing Skid Against Asheville 3-1

Kannapolis, NC - The pitching didn't fail the Intimidators when Kannapolis looked to snap a three-game losing streak against Asheville. Intimidators' starter Anthony Carter gave up a first inning home run then cruised as Kannapolis beat Asheville 3-1 at Fieldcrest Cannon Stadium.

Carter lasted six innings giving up four hits, one run, with seven strikeouts to improve his record to 2-0. Backing the starter out of the bullpen was Hector Santiago with two scoreless innings and Henry Mabee tacking down his first save of the year.

Offensively, the Intimidators answered the Tourists homer in the first with two runs in the bottom half of the inning. Dale Mollenhauer led off with a triple and was brought in by Greg Paiml on a sacrifice fly. Christian Marrero followed with a double and later scored on a wild pitch.

Asheville's lone run scored on a Brian Rike home run. It was his third dinger in the series.
