
Intimidators Drop Rain-Shortened Contest 8-7 To Power

Kannapolis, NC ? The Intimidators and Power made it one pitch into the seventh inning before both teams were taken off the field for a rain delay which ended the contest. Kannapolis (2-2) lost 8-7 to West Virginia in front of 1,609 people at Fieldcrest Cannon Stadium.
The Intimidators gave up three runs in the first inning before answering with four tallies. Jim Gallagher brought in Sergio Miranda with a RBI single. Lee Cruz crushed a two-run double to plate Gallagher and Logan Johnson. Matt Inouye capped the frame with a run scoring single to plate Cruz to take a 4-3 lead.
But the Power scored three runs in the top of the second and Kannapolis cut into the deficit on a Gallagher RBI single to bring in Sergio Miranda.
Kannapolis gave up and scored two runs in the sixth inning to make it 8-7 before the rains came. Gallagher made it three RBI with a single in the sixth to bring in Lee Fischer and Mark Fleisher scored Miranda on a sacrifice fly.
The Intimidators and Power waited out a 43-minute rain delay before the decision was made to call the game. All stats are official and the game is final.
