Quad Cities River Bandits News Release

MIDLAND, Michigan - D'Marcus Ingram extended his hitting streak to ten straight games on Tuesday night, but the River Bandits were unable to top the Great Lakes Loons as they fell 6-2.

Eric Fornataro (5-3) was charged with his third loss of the season after surrendering six runs, four earned, on eight hits through five innings. Fornataro fanned six in the loss. The Bandits bullpen shut down the Loons as Chris Notti, Jesse Simpson, and Aaron Terry combined for three scoreless innings. Will Savage (5-1) chalked up his fifth win of the season for the Loons. He allowed just two runs through six innings for Great Lakes.

Ryde Rodriguez provided all of the offense for the River Bandits in the first inning when he hit a two-run double, but the Loons pitching staff was up to the task of keeping the Bandit hitters at bay. Ingram's leadoff single in the first inning extended his hitting streak to ten straight games which is the longest by any Bandit this season.

The River Bandits continue their three-game series with the Loons on Wednesday night when they square-off with Great Lakes for the second time this season. Quad Cities looks to even up the series by sending Michael Blazek (2-2) to face off with fellow right-hander Elisaul Pimentel (4-3). Game time is set for 6:05 p.m. at Dow Diamond in Midland, Michigan.

UP NEXT: Though baseball season has bloomed, Modern Woodmen Park provides a great special events venue while the River Bandits are on the road during the 2010 season.
