Red Deer Rebels News Release
As the Western Hockey League (WHL) continues to monitor the public health developments regarding COVID-19, the Red Deer Rebels Hockey Club will follow recommendations set by the WHL in an effort to protect the health of our players, staff, and fans.
For the remainder of the season, any promotional events involving direct contact with the players have been cancelled. This includes, but is not limited to, dressing room tours, autograph sessions, "high five" opportunities, and player photographs.
Statement from Westerner Park regarding COVID-19:
As of March 10, 2020 Alberta Health Services has assessed the risk level of Albertans being exposed to the virus and contracting COVID-19 as very low. Westerner Park would like to remind guests that our Event Delivery team, Food & Beverage team and all members of our staff work hard to ensure Westerner Park maintains our standard of providing premier facilities and services.
Our organization follows the direction and best practices of Alberta Health Services (AHS) and the Alberta occupational health and safety (OHS) legislation protocol for respiratory viruses in the workplace. Westerner Parks current cleaning and hygiene standards already meet the best practices and we take that very seriously. Venues are completely and properly cleaned for every change over of event. There is plenty of access to public washrooms for hand washing, hand sanitizers, and proper hand washing guidelines for both guests and staff. As a precautionary measure we are increasing the frequency of cleaning and adding additional hand sanitizing stations.
The health and safety of our guests and staff are a top priority. For more information on the coronavirus (COVID-19) please visit www.albertahealthservices.ca
Promotional plans for the 3 remaining Rebels games include:

Tuesday, March 17, 2020 vs. the Medicine Hat Tigers
It's Saint Patrick's Day! We encourage you to wear green, speak with an Irish accent, and help us cheer on the boys! We said wear green...not orange.
Friday, March 20, 2020 vs. the Edmonton Oil Kings
Our final home game of the season as the Rebels host the Edmonton Oil Kings in the first game of a Home and Home with our neighbours to the north. Our annual awards will also be handed out before the game.
