Infielder Steve Singleton Arriving; OF Danny Berg Departs

New Britain, CT - The New Britain Rock Cats of the Eastern League announced two roster moves today, with one involving the promotion of Steven Singleton, a promising middle Infielder. The associated details are as follows:

INF Steven Singleton, a 23-year-old product of the University of San Diego, has been promoted to the Rock Cats from the Ft. Myers in the Single-A Florida State League. The 5'11"/190-pound native of San Francisco, CA is known primarily for his potent bat and, at the time of his promotion, was batting .269 with 15 Doubles, 8 Triples, 5 Home Runs and 39 RBI for the Miracle. A switch-hitter, Singleton was an 11th Round selection by Minnesota in the 2006 Draft. He joined the Rock Cats in Reading, PA last evening as they begin the second half of the 2009 Season.

OF Danny Berg, a 24-year-old native of Glen Iris, Australia who played portions of two seasons in New Britain, has been designated for assignment by Minnesota. A member of his native Australia's Team in the 2009 World Baseball Classic, Danny appeared in 15 games for the 2009 Rock Cats and recorded 1 Double and 8 RBI. In the same number of contests for the 2008 Rock Cats, Berg compiled a .255 BA.

The Rock Cats thanked Danny for his service in New Britain.
