SYRACUSE, NY -- Staring at a 3-2 deficit, the Indianapolis Indians put together a dramatic rally in the top of the ninth to stun the Syracuse Chiefs on Saturday night, 5-4. The inning was aided by a pair of Chiefs errors, but three Tribe hits forced the issue and helped clinch a third straight victory.

Indianapolis' rally was sparked by a lead-off single from Elias Diaz, who had already doubled home a run in the sixth inning. A fielding error by third baseman Ian Stewart tied the game, and a throwing miscue by Jason Martinson plated a pair of runs.

The Chiefs (16-26) nearly wiped away the comeback by Indianapolis with a rally of their own in the bottom of the ninth. Syracuse scored a run and had the tying-run at second base when A.J. Morris slammed the door for his first save of the season.

The dramatic win clinched the series for Indianapolis (25-18), while Syracuse has now dropped seven games in a row. Bobby LaFromboise and Brad Lincoln (2-0) kept the Chiefs bats in check out of the bullpen to set the stage for the comeback.
