
Indians Open 2008 Home Schedule On Friday

INDIANAPOLIS -- The Indianapolis Indians open their home schedule on Friday when Norfolk comes to Victory Field for a 7:15 p.m. contest. The first homestand continues through April 18 as the Tribe squares off with the Tides (April 11-14) and Pawtucket Red Sox (April 15-18).
Fri., April 11 -- Norfolk @ 7:15 p.m.
* Weather Guarantee -- If the home opener starts with a temperature of below 60 degrees, everyone in attendance will receive a FREE ticket to another April game at Victory Field.
* Schedule Magnet Giveaway --The first 4,000 fans receive an Indians Schedule Magnet courtesy of AIG. Gates open at 5:30 p.m.
* MiLB Player of the Year -- Indians 1B/RF Steve Pearce, who was named Minor League Baseball's 2007 Player of the Year, will be honored during a special pre-game ceremony. Pirates President Frank Coonelly will be on hand to congratulate Pearce.
* Ceremonial Pitches -- Indianapolis Mayor Greg Ballard and White River State Park Executive Director Bob Whitt will be on hand to throw out ceremonial pitches.
* Opening Night Fireworks -- Fans will be treated to the first post-game fireworks spectacular of 2008 courtesy of AIG, Ermco and Indiana Members Credit Union.
Sat., April 12 -- Norfolk @ 7:00 p.m.
* Schedule Magnet Giveaway --The first 4,000 fans receive an Indians Schedule Magnet courtesy of AIG. Gates open at 5:30 p.m.
* Mascot Mania -- Several area mascots will be on hand to entertain fans throughout the night.
* Art Competition Awards -- The Indians will recognize winners from their Inaugural Art Competition before the game. WTHR's Rich Nye will serve as master of ceremonies.
Sun., April 13 -- Norfolk @ 2:00 p.m.
* Wall Calendar Giveaway -- It's the first Souvenir Sunday of 2008 as the first 4,000 fans receive an Indians Wall Calendar courtesy of Qdoba. Gates open at 12:30 p.m.
* Knot Hole Run -- Members of the Community Health/WISH-TV Knot Hole Club are invited to run the bases after the game.
Mon., April 14 -- Norfolk @ 7:00 p.m.
* Monday Dollar Menu -- Hot dogs, popcorn, peanuts, Cracker Jack and potato chips will be available for just $1 each.
* Vintage Baseball Game -- Starting at 5:30 p.m., check out the Indianapolis Hoosiers vs. Indianapolis Blues in a throw-back game from the late 1800's.
Tues., April 15 -- Pawtucket @ 7:00 p.m.
The Tribe opens a four-game series with the Triple-A affiliate of the Boston Red Sox.
Wed., April 16 -- Pawtucket @ 2:00 p.m.
* Business Day Game -- Enjoy an afternoon away from the office with clients, co-workers, or friends.
Thurs., April 17 -- Pawtucket @ 7:00 p.m.
* Ticketmaster Family Night -- A family of four can enjoy Indians Baseball and dinner at the ballpark for just $52. Each Ticketmaster Family pack includes four box seats, four Indians hats, four hot dogs and four soft drinks.
Fri., April 18 -- Pawtucket @ 7:15 p.m.
* Friday Night Fireworks -- Fans will be treated to a post-game fireworks spectacular courtesy of Coors Light.
