SPOKANE, Wash. - The Indians and Canadians gifted residents of Spokane with 17 innings of baseball as the two teams played in a doubleheader on Friday night in front of 6,207 at Avista Stadium. Vancouver won Game 1, 8-7, in 10 innings and Spokane was near perfect in Game 2 with 4-0 shutout victory. Game 1 was Wildfire Community Night presented by Local Toyota Dealers, The Big 99.9 Coyote Country, 700 ESPN and The Current. Game 2 was Raining Money Night presented by The General Store and NOW 105.7.

Game 1 was a back-and-forth affair as every time the Canadians took the lead, the Indians would strike back to knot it back up. But in the fifth, Spokane loaded the bases with no outs and took advantage of the opportunity.

Ti'Quan Forbes lined one to left to drive in Spokane's first lead of the game. Vancouver came back and scored two in the sixth after Rolando Segovia led the inning off with a triple. Spokane would again tie it up in the bottom of the seventh from a Yeyson Yrizarri sac fly, forcing extra innings.

Ashton Perritt gave up the winning run in the bottom of the 10th, sealing the Game 1 victory for Vancouver. Game 1 starter Nick Green allowed five runs on six hits in four innings of work. Adam Choplick relieved him in the fifth, and allowed one run in 1.1 innings. Dairo Beltre held the Canadians scoreless for two innings.

Tyler Sanchez finished Game 1 2-for-4 with two RBI doubles. Darius Day, Dylan Moore, Diego Cedeno, Jamie Potts and Forbes each had two base knocks.

In Game 2, Spokane Indians pitchers Blake Bass and Omarlin Lopez had a combined perfect game through the first four innings. Vancouver's Juan Kelly broke it up with a leadoff single to right field in the fifth. Bass struck out four in three innings, and Lopez fanned four as well in his four frames.

The Indians got on the board early in Game 2, when Moore double home Day from second. Sherman Lacrus followed with his own double in the next at-bat to bring Moore across the plate. Todd McDonald hit a hard line drive to right field that carried itself out of the park. It was McDonald's second homer of the year.
