Indianapolis Jolt: Lynx Fall To Indy 10-0
April 28, 2007 - International League (IL1)
Ottawa Lynx News Release
The Lynx domination at home took a hit as Indianapolis ran away from them, stealing five bases and knocking out 15 hits--the most allowed by the Lynx in a game this season. When all was said and done, the Lynx fell 10-0 to the Indians.
The loss drops the Lynx record to 9-8 and boosts the Indians to 12-8.
Players Of The Game: Indianapolis outfielder Rajai Davis was 4-for-4 with a home run, two runs batted in and two runs scored for the victorious Indians.
Game Recap: Starter J.A. Happ started the game in his typical fashion, shutting the Indians down for the first three innings, striking out four over the first third of the game. Indianapolis jumped on the board in the top of the 4th, putting the Lynx in a 1-0 hole. Happ rebounded by striking out the side in the 5th inning. Things unraveled for the home Lynx in the top of the 6th as Indianapolis scored seven runs, five of which were earned and three of which were charged to Happ. The young Lynx pitcher left after 5.1 innings having struck out a team-season-high eight opposition batters. The Lynx offence, meanwhile, was limited to three hits and never really threatened to make a comeback like Friday's exciting 9th-inning rally. Indianapolis tacked on single runs in both the 8th and the 9th to close out the scoring.
Next Game: The Lynx and Indians face-off for the third game of their four-game series tomorrow afternoon at Lynx Stadium. Game time is 1:05 pm.. Sunday is Health and Wellness Day at Lynx Stadium.
Probable Pitchers: Sunday vs. Indianapolis, 1:05 pm, Ottawa LHP Matt Childers (1-1, 4.50) takes on Indianapolis LHP Sean Burnett (3-1, 4.35)
