Incredible entertainment line up for Florida Pitbulls post game

November 8, 2005 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Miami Majesty News Release

Sunrise, FL - Rap icon Doug E. Fresh and popular hip-hop group Pretty Ricky highlight the list of post-game concert performers for the first four home games of the ABA Florida Pit Bulls, South Florida's newest professional sports franchise, according to an announcement made today by co-owner and player/coach Tim Hardaway.

In addition to the Doug E. Fresh/ Pretty Ricky combo performance at the home opener on Nov. 20 against the Orange County Buzz at the BankAtlantic Center, other musical acts include ABA Starz In Motion Tour (Nov. 29), Trick Daddy (Dec. 6) and 112 (Dec. 8).

"The post-game concert series is a tremendous additional entertainment feature for Florida Pit Bulls games," Hardaway said. "It's something our fans can really look forward to. They'll see great basketball and a top notch live concert all in the same night all for the price of one. You can't beat it."

Angela Rizzi, co-owner and VP of Entertainment for the ABA, added, "This is the kind of quality entertainment component that the ABA will feature throughout the league, with many more great shows to follow."

The post-game concerts will take place immediately following the "Mike Check" hip-hop talent TV show, where fans will have the chance to vote for their favorite local entertainers who are competing for a new car and a record deal.

"Mike Check" is the brainchild of Mike Sherman, whose ‘The Mike Sherman Show' can be seen locally on UPN 33. "Mike Check" will be filmed live, exclusively at every Pit Bulls home game, and is expected to air on television sometime in December.

"Mike Sherman is one of the most talented and creative guys in the business, with more natural energy and excitement than anyone I know," Pit Bulls owner and president Demetrius Ford said. "No one works harder. The success of The Mike Sherman Show on UPN has set the stage for what I believe will be the hottest new show on TV going into 2006, and I'm proud to launch it here in South Florida at the BankAtlantic Center. Tim Hardaway and the Pit Bulls, headline entertainers and Mike Sherman's Mike Check for a total of $15? Pit Bulls fans are really getting their money's worth!"

Hardaway and the Florida Pit Bulls commence their inaugural campaign at the BankAtlantic Center on Sunday, Nov. 20 against former NBA star Cedric Ceballos and the Orange County Buzz at 5:30 p.m.
