Vancouver Giants News Release

The Vancouver Giants have selected 18-year-old Denmark forward Sebastian Svendsen in the second round, 71st overall, in the CHL Import Draft earlier today. Svendsen played for the Vastra Frolunda HC Indians in the Swedish Junior League in 2008-09 as well as for his country on Team Denmark at the World Junior Championships.

"We're really excited to get a player who speaks fluent English and has large international experience," says General Manager Scott Bonner. "He will strengthen our 18 year old age group and give us more speed down the middle"

Svendsen is 5'11 tall, weighs 165-pounds, and is eligible for the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.
