Impact Selects Two Forwards in Final Two Rounds of SuperDraft

MONTREAL - With the third pick in both the third and fourth rounds of the MLS SuperDraft, which was held on Tuesday via conference call, the Montreal Impact selected forwards Cameron Porter from Princeton University, followed by Cameron Iwasa, from the University of California, Irvine.

Porter, 21, was named the 2014 ECAC Offensive Player of the Year, scoring 15 goals in 17 games played, tied for first nationally in goals scored last season. He tallied a total of 31 goals and 13 assists during his four seasons in the Ivy League.

Iwasa, who is also 21, was named a semifinalist for the 2014 MAC Hermann award after scoring six goals and adding six assists in 25 games, all starts. He's amassed 23 goals and 14 assists over his four years at UC Irvine.

Jackson-Hamel undergoes surgery

The Impact also announced that forward Anthony Jackson-Hamel has successfully undergone sports hernia surgery, Tuesday, in Philadelphia. The recovery period will be approximately six to eight weeks.

Jackson-Hamel joined the Impact's first team on August 1 after spending four years (2010-2014) with the club's Academy. In his first season in MLS, he took part in four games, including one start, adding three goals and five assists in MLS reserve league play.
