Club de Foot Montreal News Release
MONTREAL - The Montreal Impact released its complete 2012 broadcast schedule Thursday, including 22 games on TVA Sports, the club's official broadcaster, along with 12 games on RDS/TSN, the league's official broadcaster. For the first time in club history, all games will be broadcast live on television.
TVA Sports will be the main meeting point for supporters when the team is playing on the road, as it will show 14 of the 17 away matches. TVA Sports programming will be highlighted with games against DC United and last season's MLS MVP Dwayne De Rosario on April 18 at 7:30pm (ET), versus the New York Red Bulls and international star Thierry Henry on May 19 and July 28, at 7:30pm (ET), as well as all three games against the Houston Dynamo, with striker Brian Ching and Quebec defender Andre Hainault, on June 23, July 21 and October 6. The first game to be broadcast on TVA Sports will be on March 24, when the team will play Columbus to face the Crew at 3pm (ET).
RDS and TSN will be broadcasting the Impact's very first game in MLS, against the Vancouver Whitecaps FC on March 10, at BC Place, at 6pm (ET), as well as its home opener on March 17, at 2pm (ET) against the Chicago Fire at Olympic Stadium. RDS and TSN will also broadcast the LA Galaxy and superstars David Beckham, Robbie Keane and Landon Donovan on May 12 at 4pm (ET), as well as the home opener at Stade Saputo versus Seattle on June 16 at 7:30pm (ET). All 12 games will be broadcast on RDS's primary channel, while three of those matches will be broadcast on TSN2.
Play-by-play duties at TVA Sports will be handled by Frederic Lord with colour commentary by Olivier Brett. RDS will have veteran soccer broadcasters Claudine Douville (play-by-play) and Jean Gounelle (colour), while Patrick Leduc will serve as a panel analyst. TSN play-by-play commentator Luke Wileman and colour analyst Jason deVos, former Canadian National Team player, return to the MLS ON TSN broadcast booth for a second season.
Schedule Changes
The Impact also announced that start times for three games have been changed. On April 7, the game versus Toronto FC at Olympic Stadium will kickoff at noon ET instead of 1pm. On July 4, the match in Kansas City will move from 7:30pm to 7pm. Finally, on October 20 in Toronto, the game is scheduled at 1:30pm instead of 2pm.
The Impact will kick off its historical inaugural game in North America's first division in just 16 days. Season tickets are available online at impactmontreal.com or by calling 514-328-3668 while individual tickets for the five games presented at Olympic Stadium are available through Admission.
