Club de Foot Montreal News Release
MONTREAL - The Montreal Impact announced Thursday a reorganisation of its Academy technical staff.
In addition to his duties as Academy Director, Philippe Eullaffroy will also act as the Impact U23 head coach. Simon Gatti will now be assistant coach with the Impact U23, which will play 14 regular season games in the PDL, from May to July.
Jason DiTullio will remain head coach of the Impact U18.
Wilfried Nancy will now take over the head coaching duties for the Impact U16, while Nicolas Gagnon will coach the U14 team.
Antoine Guldner will remain head coach of the Impact U13 as well as the Academy Mental Health Coach.
The Impact also added Jack Stern to its coaching staff. Stern was named goalkeeper coach with the U23, U18 and U16 teams. Since 2009, he was goalkeeper coach with the West Bromwich Albion FC Academy of the English Premier League. He holds a UEFA B coaching license.
Owen Braun will remain with the club and will be in charge of the U14 and U13 goalkeepers as well as all Pre-Academy goalkeepers from the U12, U11, U10, U9 and U8 teams.
Yannick Girard will continue as Strength and Conditioning coach for the Academy teams.
Academy tryouts
Close to 500 players born between 1998 and 2002 attended the Academy tryouts last weekend at Marie-Victorin Sports Complex, in Montreal. From that number, around a hundred players were called up to participate in the second stage of the selection process that will take place this Saturday. The final phase will be on January 18.
It is still possible to register for the Pre-Academy tryouts, taking place on February 22 and 23 at Stade Ḫ̩bert, in Saint-Leonard.
