HENDERSON, NV - NBA G League Ignite (4-9) topped the Rip City Remix (7-7), 110-105, on Thursday night at The Dollar Loan Center in Henderson, Nev.
Ignite was led by Matas Buzelis, who recorded a season-high 25 points on 10-of-16 shooting from the field, along with six rebounds, two blocks, and two steals. London Johnson followed closely after finishing with 22 points, seven assists and three rebounds. Norris Cole came off the bench to provide 16 points, four rebounds and three assists, while Thierry Darlan earned his first career start and added 12 points and four rebounds.
Ashton Hagans paced the Remix with 23 points, seven assists, six rebounds and two steals on 9-of-11 shots from the field. Rayan Rupert tallied 18 points, three rebounds and two steals, while George Conditt IV recorded 15 points, seven rebounds, three assists and three blocks.
After a tightly contested matchup in the first quarter, Ignite created separation after using a 24-10 to take a 17-point lead towards the end of the first half. Ignite shot 53.8 percent from the field, including 45.5 percent from behind the arc during that span. Matas Buzelis and London Johnson paced Ignite with 14 and 12 points, respectively, to help Ignite take a 63-48 lead at the halfway mark. The Remix came out of the break on a mission en route to opening the third quarter on a 19-3 run to reclaim the lead at the 7:33 mark. Ignite weathered the storm after a Norris Cole buzzer-beater evened the score (83-83) heading into the final frame. In a quarter that saw nine lead changes, Ignite faced a two-point deficit with 1:14 remaining in regulation. Ignite closed the game on a 9-2 run led by a clutch three-point basket by Cole to help Ignite seal the game.
