Iowa Wolves News Release
ORLANDO, FL - The Iowa Wolves (0-4), the NBA G League affiliate of the Minnesota Timberwolves, lost a close one at the hands of the NBA G League Ignite (4-0), by a score of 90-97 today at AdventHealth Arena.
It was a balanced effort from both teams in the first half, with Iowa shooting 41.5% from the field in the first half, while Ignite shot 39.5%. Ignite held a four-point edge, 47-43 going into halftime.
Iowa won the third quarter 31-20 but Ignite took over midway through the fourth and would outscore Iowa 30-16.
Tyler Cook led Iowa with 24 points and 11 rebounds, tallying his fourth double-double in the first four games for Iowa. Allonzo Trier added 17 points, while Charlie Brown, Jr. led the team in assists with 6.
Jalen Green led the way for Ignite with 22 points and added 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Donta Hall grabbed a team-high 16 rebounds for Ignite and added 12 points. Ignite held the slight edge in free-throws, making 9-of-13, helping push Ignite to the seven-point win.
The Wolves will take on the Delaware Blue Coats on Wednesday, February 17 at 6:00 p.m. CT at AdventHealth Arena.
