Westchester Knicks News Release

REUNION, FL - Myles Powell of the Westchester Knicks, the official NBA G League affiliate of the New York Knicks, poured in 31 points career and team-high 31 points but the Knicks were defeated by the Rio Grande Valley Vipers, 135-117, Monday afternoon, at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at Walt Disney World Resort.

Powell, an affiliate player, shot 71.4-percent from the field (10-of-14) and sank all five of his three-point attempts and a pair of free-throw looks in his 31-point performance. He also corralled two steals, dished six assists and hauled a board.

New York Knicks assignee, Ignas Brazdeikis, put up 20 points on 47-percent in his first game back. Brazdeikis also recorded nine rebounds and drained three tries from the outside. Returning rights player, Simi Shittu, accumulated his fourth double-double of the season comprised of 18 points and 10 rebounds. Affiliate player, James Young, added 18 points as well.

Kevin Porter Jr. scored 32 points for the Vipers (2-2) on 66.7-percent. Starters, Brodric Thomas (24) and Kenyon Martin Jr. (21), also contributed significantly while Armoni Brooks' 22 points in a reserve role, which included a game-high six made treys, helped greatly.

The Knicks (2-2) went up by as many as 13 points prior to the intermission but failed to get within eight in the second half.

Westchester faces Long Island on Wednesday, February 17 at 11:00 AM ET.
