Idaho Steelheads News Release

Boise, ID (1/6/14) - Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Brad Ralph announced Tuesday that the Idaho Steelheads have traded defenseman James Isaacs to the Greenville Road Warriors in exchange for future considerations. The team also signed defenseman Matt Walters to a contract.

Walters, 26, is in his first professional season out of the University of Toronto (CIS). He was twice named the team's top defenseman during his four seasons with the Blues and chipped in a career-best four goals during his final season at UT. The Winnipeg, Manitoba, product made his professional debut late last season, appearing in one game for the Toledo Walleye.

The 24-year-old Isaacs appeared in 58 regular-season games with Idaho, dating back to last season, collecting 18 points (four goals, 14 assists) and a plus-18 plus/minus rating.

Idaho (17-11-4, 38 points) is on the road this week, with games Friday and Saturday against division-leading Colorado (18-9-5, 41 points). Both games can be heard live in the Treasure Valley on KTIK (1350 AM) at 7 PM.

Idaho's next home game is Wednesday, January 15, when the Utah Grizzlies come to town. Wednesdays are Dollar Beer Night at CenturyLink Arena with small beers costing just a buck through the second period, courtesy of Bud Light.

Group outings at a Steelheads game are a great way to gather friends, colleagues, or co-workers for a fun night out in downtown Boise. Ticket prices are discounted and you can get a Pepsi, Double-R Ranch Hot Dog, and bag of Tim's Cascade Chips with each ticket.
