
SF Bulls Get Swedish Forward Stalberg from San Jose, Brace Loaned from Worcester

SAN FRANCISCO - The San Francisco Bulls Professional Hockey Team, proud affiliate of the San Jose Sharks, announced today that the San Jose Sharks have assigned forward Sebastian Stalberg from the Worcester Sharks to the Bulls. Forward Riley Brace has also been loaned to the Bulls by Worcester. In addition, the Bulls acquired forward Ryan Flanigan from the Toledo Walleye for Aaron Clarke, who the Bulls acquired from the Kalamazoo Wings yesterday for the rights to defenseman Josh Kidd. The Bulls have acquired goaltender Alex Kangas from the Alaska Aces for future considerations.
Stalberg, 23, joins the Bulls during his second season of professional hockey. The 6-foot, 1-inch native of Gothenburg, Sweden has five points (1 goal, 4 assists) in 23 games with Worcester this season. In 101 games with Worcester, Stalberg has compiled 27 points (14 goals, 13 assists). Prior to turning pro, Stalberg played three seasons at the University of Vermont, following in the footsteps of his older brother, NHL forward Viktor Stalberg. While with Vermont, Sebastian led the team in scoring his final two seasons. In his rookie year with Vermont, he was named to the Hockey East All-Rookie Team.
Brace, 21, is in his first full professional season. The 5-foot, 11-inch Ottawa, Ontario native has three assists in 24 games with Worcester and one assist with the Bulls in two games this season. In 2012-13, the 5-foot, 11-inch, 185-pound, native of Ottawa, Ontario, recorded six points (3 goals, 3 assists) in eight games with Worcester after finishing his OHL career in Mississauga. Brace totaled 234 points (89 goals, 145 assists) in 304 OHL games.
Flanigan, 25, has six points (2 goals, 4 assists) in 17 games this season between the Wheeling Nailers and Toledo Walleye. In his first year of pro hockey in 2012-13, the 6-foot, Rochester, New York native split time between the Greenville Road Warriors of the ECHL and the Wichita Thunder of the CHL, compiling 33 points in 59 games. Prior to turning pro, Flanigan played four seasons at Merrimack College, leading the team in points with 29 in 36 games his final season.
Kangas, 26, has a 0-1-2 record with Alaska this season. The Rochester, Minnesota native also played in four games with the Fort Wayne Komets in 2011-12. Prior to his professional career, Kangas played four years at the University of Minnesota going a combined 47-41-16.
