DES MOINES, Iowa - Key substitutes Antoine Walker scored 22 points and Marcus Banks added 21 (15-16 FT) as the Idaho Stampede (11-17) beat the Iowa Energy 112-102. The Stampede bench scored 73 points and the team made 33-of-42 (78.6) free throws in the comeback win.
The Stampede outscored the Energy 40-26 in the fourth quarter, as former NBA stars Walker and Banks took over. The team made 10-of-17 shots and 17-of-20 free throws in the final stanza, with Walker tallying 15 points in the quarter and Banks making 11-of-12 free throws. Idaho bench players accounted for all but three points in the fourth. The Stampede committed just nine turnovers in the game, while they forced 18 Iowa turnovers, which led to 19 points for Idaho.
Terrico White had 15 points and Tony Bobbitt added 13 points. The second team was also aided by Reggie Larry (nine points, six rebounds) and Devin Green (eight points, three steals). Mikki Moore added eight points and seven rebounds.
Iowa (19-9) was led in scoring by Mike Efevberha, who had 18 points and seven rebounds. Curtis Stinson added 15 points, 10 assists, seven rebounds and three steals.
The Stampede stay on the road to play the Tulsa 66ers on Tuesday, Feb. 14 at 6 p.m. (MST).
