Reno Bighorns News Release
RENO, NEV.- Andre Emmett scored 29 points Friday night but the Reno Bighorns lost to the D-Fenders 101-108. Blake Ahearn had 20 points and seven rebounds and Chris Ayer chipped in with 13 points and nine rebounds for the Bighorns. Gerald Green led the D-Fenders with 24 points and nine assists.
The game was tightly contested throughout, with the Bighorns taking a one point lead after the first quarter only to see the D-Fenders make a run and lead by three at halftime. Eventually, the D-Fenders would take advantage of their chances, and pulled away late in the fourth quarter.
The D-Fenders would use a fast-paced offense to get easy chances, evident by their 46.1 percent shooting from the field and 48 points in the paint. The Bighorns kept the game close by grabbing 15 offensive rebounds leading to 14 second chance points.
Emmett went 11-for-20 from the field but the Bighorns only shot 41.0 percent from the field. Terrance Thomas had a strong performance off the bench with 11 points and nine rebounds.
The Bighorns will look for redemption on Saturday when they tip-off against the D-Fenders at the Reno Events Center at 7 p.m. The first 1,000 fans through the door will receive a free Bruno Bobblehead. Doors will open at 6 p.m.
