Idaho Steelheads News Release

(Boise, ID) - Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Hardy Sauter announced Monday that the Idaho Steeheads have added defenseman Deron Cousens to the roster and released defenseman Adam Maccarone.

Cousens was claimed by Idaho off waivers from the Florida Everblades.

The 25-year-old Cousens is in his first full professional season out of Michigan Tech. He skated in 48 games for the Everblades this season, scoring two goals and handing out six assists. He made his professional debut with the Everblades last spring after wrapping up his college career at Michigan Tech, sharing top honors as the Huskies' leading scorer during his senior season from the blue line.

Cousens is expected to be in the lineup for Idaho Wednesday night when the team hosts the Stockton Thunder at CenturyLink Arena. Game time is 7 PM and can be heard in the Treasure Valley on KTIK (1350 AM).

Maccarone appeared in 38 games with the Steelheads, registering five points (two goals, three assists) and 19 penalty minutes, including the game-winning goal in the third period at Stockton on December 17.

Group outings at a Steelheads game are a great way to gather friends, colleagues, or co-workers for a fun night out in downtown Boise. Ticket prices are discounted and you can get a Pepsi, Double-R Ranch Hot Dog, and bag of Tim's Cascade Chips with each ticket.
