Evansville IceMen News Release

EVANSVILLE, Ind.- The Evansville IceMen, presented by Coors Light, have acquired Defenseman, Daniel Johnston in a trade with the Colorado Eagles. In exchange for Johnston, the IceMen have sent Forward, Nathan Moon to Colorado.

A 22-year-old from Calgary, Johnston scored six goals and had 23 assists for the Eagles in 2013-14. Johnston has one assist and nine PIM through four games with the Calgary Flames' double A affiliate this season.

Johnston played junior hockey with the Lethbridge Hurricanes of the WHL, scoring a career best 34 points in 2012-13. He participated in Flames training camp this past September.

"Daniel is a big right shot defenseman that plays in all situations," said IceMen Head Coach Dwight Mullins. "He's a second year pro that really has a great future and will be a great fit here in Evansville."

Moon surprised the IceMen and the Evansville community when he requested a trade from the IceMen, the team he has played for the last two seasons. He departs after scoring 81 points in 96 games.

The IceMen will play their first road game on Halloween night in Indianapolis and hope to have Johnston with them for that game. They will return home to wrap up this three game series with the Indy Fuel on Saturday, Nov. 1. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:15 p.m. at the Ford Center.

The Fur Circus will be back in Evansville to perform during intermission and entertain the crowd. Cold Stone Blizzard Buddies will also be allowed to enjoy a post-game skate at the Ford Center. Plus the first 5,000 fans in the building will receive a foam beard to help kick off the IceMen's No Shave November Campaign.

Single game tickets are on sale now for all games at the Ford Center Box Office, Monday through Friday, from 10 a.m.to-5 p.m. Get your season tickets now to watch every exciting minute of IceMen hockey during the 2014-15 season at a discounted price.
