Niagara IceDogs News Release
A number of players from the Niagara IceDogs were recognized in the 2015-16 Ontario Hockey League Coaches Poll. The annual poll surveys member club coaches and gives them the opportunity to honour the top three players in the OHL, in 20 different skill categories. The IceDogs were represented well thanks to Jordan Maletta, Josh Ho-Sang, and Alex Nedeljkovic.
IceDogs alternate captain Jordan Maletta's great season has not been overlooked by coaches around the league. Maletta was voted as the best face-off man in the Eastern Conference, while also receiving a great deal of recognition for his above-average penalty killing and being one of the OHL's most underrated players.
Josh Ho-Sang is arguably one of the most dynamic players in the league so it is no wonder as to why he is regarded as one of the best playmakers in the Eastern Conference for the second straight year. The NY Islanders prospect is also ranked first overall in the category of 'best stickhandling' for the second consecutive season. Ho-Sang's smooth hands also played a large part in him earning 'best shootout scorer' in the East.
Last but not least, the idea that Alex Nedeljkovic is one of the best goaltenders in the league was all but confirmed after he captured first place in the categories of 'best puck handling goalie' as well as 'best shootout goalie'.
The IceDogs organization would like to congratulate these players on yet another spectacular season.
