OTTAWA, ONTARIO -The Hamilton Bulldogs (25-34-8-0) were officially eliminated from playoff contention after a 5-3 loss to the Ottawa 67's (35-29-2-1) Friday night at TD Place in Ottawa.

Hamilton jumped out to a 1-0 lead 11:43 into the first period as Adam Laishram pulled Liam Herbst out of the net with a deke and snuck the puck past the Ottawa goaltender for his 13th goal of the season. Jack Hidi picked up the lone assist on the play.

While short-handed just a few minutes later Ottawa defenceman Jacob Middleton intercepted a pass and raced up the left wing snapping a shot in for his 7th on the year.

The 67's added another 48 seconds into the second period as Nathan Todd broke in on the edge and centrered a pass to Artur Tyanulin who fired in his first of two goals on the night. His second came 14 minutes later with a quick deflection of a Nevin Guy pass right in front of the Hamilton net.

Dante Salituro scored what turned out to be the game winner at 18:09 of the second period. Jerimiah Addison skated behind the Bulldogs net and flipped a backhand pass to Salituro in front who fired a one timer in for his 38th of the season.

The Bulldogs came into the third period buzzing around the Ottawa net and were rewarded when Matt Luff shot a puck from a bad angle that deflected off the goaltenders stick and into the net. For Luff that pushes his point streak to six games and gives him 26 goals on the season.

After a number of chances and some big saves from Liam Herbst the 67's added an empty netter at 17:52. Trent Mallette grabbed his 10th of the season by hitting the open cage.

Hamilton wrapped up the scoring with a goal in the last minute when Ondrej Kachyna jammed in a puck with 1:16 to play. Jack Hidi picked up the lone assist on the play.

The Bulldogs have one more game left this season. Saturday night they visit the Kingston Frontenacs at 7:00 p.m.
