IceDogs Raise Over $16,000 in Pink in the Rink Jersey Auction
March 27, 2012 - Ontario Hockey League (OHL)
Niagara IceDogs News Release
On Sunday, March 25th, Niagara IceDogs owners Bill and Denise Burke presented a cheque for $16,235 to Angela Daley of the Canadian Cancer Society for the funds raised from their Pink in the Rink jersey auction!
Back on February 4th, the IceDogs wore pink jerseys for the first time as part of their Pink in the Rink women's cancer awareness night. The jerseys were a huge hit with the fans and the auction which ran throughout the month of February was a bigger success than anyone could have imagined.
The top selling jersey was captain Andrew Agozzino's, with his jersey bringing in an astounding $3775! Also topping the $1000 mark were Dougie Hamilton and Mark Visentin's jerseys.
The IceDogs would like to thank all the fans who supported the Pink in the Rink efforts, as well as the Canadian Cancer Society. A special thanks also goes out to Line 2 Revenue Systems, operators of the Niagara IceDogs auction site who generously waved their fees to help maximize the amount donated from the auction!
