The IceDogs returned home following Monday afternoon's win in Peterborough, and having clinched the playoffs to a nearly sold out Thursday night crowd at the Meridian Centre.

Despite having not seen each other since the end of November, where the 'Dogs were victorious by a score of 7-2, these two teams did not experience much of a feeling out process that normally comes after a long period of time between match-ups. Just 2 and a half minutes into the game, Kirill Maksimov found the back of the net with a tip in, scoring his 33rd goal of the season, and first goal since February 7th. Jack Studnicka scored two power play goals in the period from the doorstep of the Rangers net. Kyen Sopa scored a highlight reel goal, beating a Kitchener defenceman in the neutral zone and scoring high glove side. The Rangers added a goal of their own to break the shutout. The 'Dogs carried a 4-1 lead into the 2nd period.

The 'Dogs just kept rolling in the middle frame! Luke Richardson was replaced by Lucas Pfeil, making it the second time the 'Dogs chased Richardson this season. Jack Studnicka completed the hat-trick on a powerplay! Then, later in the period, the 'Dogs were down a man, but that didn't matter to Jack. Studnicka stole the puck in the defensive zone and used his speed to streak into the offensive zone on a short-handed breakaway. Jack scored his 4th goal of the period capitalizing on 4 of the 5 special team opportunities through 2 period. Akil Thomas added to the 'Dogs lead, making it 7 with his 30th of the season, scoring bar down on Pfeil. Niagara skated into the 3rd period with a 7-1 lead.

Kirill Maksimov capitalized 31 seconds into the third period with a shorthanded goal of his own! The 'Dogs continued to dominate the period, consistently pressing until Oliver Castleman added a goal next to his name on the scorecard! Kyen Sopa added another goal to bring the 'Dogs into the double digits! The Rangers scored with just a few seconds remaining, but Niagara took this one by a score of 10-2!

The 'Dogs are back in action at home Saturday night as they play host to the Peterborough Petes for the final time this season, and the second time in a week.
