Chris Festarini recorded his third win in as many games as the Niagara IceDogs clipped the Spitfires 4-3 on Saturday night.
Niagara got off to another quick start as Alex Friesen defeated Windsor netminder, and ex-IceDog, Jaroslav Pavelka just under two minutes into the first period. Freddie Hamilton would extend the IceDogs lead to 2-0 with a goal on the power play, his team-leading 12th of the season. Brandon Devlin and Ryan Strome traded goals late in the period to send the game into the first intermission with a 3-1 score.
Strome would add his second of the game on another IceDogs power play to increase their lead to 4-1. Andrew Agozzino and Friesen would draw assists on the goal. Windsor would cut the Niagara lead in half, making it 4-2 after two period. The period saw some chippy play, including a fight between Mitch Bennett and Ty Bilcke.
The lone goal in the third period belonged to Windsor, as Brady Vail beat Festarini with just under five minutes to play. Festarini made 12 more saves in the frame to preserve the 4-3 win.
The IceDogs next home game is Thursday, November 24th as they host the Mississauga St. Michael's Majors.
