
Belleville Downs Saginaw 4-3 in Shootout

On Saturday night, the Saginaw Spirit fell to the Belleville Bulls in a shootout 4-3 as they continued their weekend road trip of the OHL's Eastern Conference. Josh Shalla, Anthony Camara, and Dalton Young netted goals for the Spirit. Tadeas Galansky made 42 saves in net for Saginaw.
Saginaw jumped out to an early 1-0 advantage as Josh Shalla found the back of the net just 54 second into the hockey game. The assist on the goal went to Vince Trocheck, his first assist of three on the night.
After taking a 1-0 lead into the first intermission, Saginaw would get things started in the second period much like they did in the first, scoring 50 seconds into the period. Anthony Camara would get credit for Saginaw's second goal of the hockey game. About one minute later, Belleville would pull back to within a goal as Luke Judson scored his sixth goal of the season to make the score 2-1. Two minutes later, the Bull's Michael Curtis would tie the game 2-2, with the assist going to Brady Austin. Saginaw would answer right back however with a laser shot off the stick of defenseman Dalton Young, his second goal of the season to reclaim the lead for the Spirit. The score would remain 3-2 until Austen Brassard would sneak a shot by Tadeas Galansky with five seconds remaining in the second period to once again tie the game.
The score would remain tied 3-3 as the game would be forced into overtime and then a shootout for a second straight night for Saginaw. The Bulls would take home the victory in the shootout as Luke Judson would score the lone goal in the for either side.
