Niagara IceDogs News Release
The Niagara IceDogs won their third game in a row, defeating the Erie Otters 6-4 on Wednesday night.
Andrew Agozzino got the IceDogs on the board just over a minute into the first period, burying a rebound off a Dougie Hamilton point shot. The Otters responded with three unanswered goals as the IceDogs entered the first intermission down 3-1.
Niagara cut the lead to 3-2 with a powerplay goal from Andrew Agozzino, his second of the game. Joel Wigle followed up minutes later with his fourth goal of the season to tie the game at three. The IceDogs took the lead on a pair of shorthanded goals by Freddie Hamilton and Ryan Strome, scored only ten seconds apart.
Erie struck first in the third period, but Dougie Hamilton would restore the two goal lead with a powerplay marker. Mark Visentin made some great saves in the final frame to shut the door and clinch the IceDogs third win in a row.
The Niagara IceDogs will now return home to host the Brampton Battalion on Thursday night, followed by the Sudbury Wolves on Saturday night.
