
Spirit Fall to Whalers 3-2

The Saginaw Spirit returned home on Wednesday night from an eastern conference road trip over the past weekend. Defenseman Jamie Oleksiak led the Spirit to a great start, scoring a goal at 6:30 into the first period. winger Garret Ross assisted the shot. The Whalers respond almost immediately, scoring not even a minute later with a goal scored by center Rickard Rakell assisted by wingman Stefan Noesen and Garrett Meurs. Goalie Jake Paterson did not allow any more goals, and at the end of first period the teams were tied at 1-1.
The Spirit got out to another quick start in the second as Spirit center Vincent Trocheck scored a power play goal. Brandon Saad and Peter Hermenegildo assist his shot. J.T. Miller of the came back with a goal for the Whalers to tie it back up quickly. Plymouth would then score their third goal with a shot by Noesen with 9:30 left in the second period, which would prove to be the game winning goal.

Then on Saturday Night, St Mary's of Michigan presents the annual Pink Out game as the Spirit take on the Sarnia Sting! Get Your Tickets! Next Wednesday the Spirit return home to face off against the rival Plymouth Whalers on $1.00 Beer Night at The Dow Event Center. Then on Friday, October 28th, Dow Corning presents Solar Nights as Saginaw takes on the Kingston Frontenacs. The Spirit will wrap up the weekend of games on Saturday the 29th against the Sarnia Sting as St. Mary's of Michigan presents the annual Pink Out game. All fans in attendance will receive pink thunder sticks and there will be a post-game jersey auction for the special pink promotional jerseys the team will be wearing for the game.
