Niagara IceDogs News Release
The Niagara IceDogs were shutout 3-0 by the Brampton Battalion on Sunday.
Both teams held each other scoreless until the final minute of the period when Brampton would strike on the power play. IceDogs goaltender Christopher Festarini stopped 15 of 16 shots in the frame.
The second period provided much of the same, with neither team being able to solve the opposing netminder. The IceDogs killed off a critical two-man advantage for the Battalion to keep the game within a goal heading into the second intermission.
The Battalion would add another two more goals in the third period to increase their lead to 3-0. Brampton's defence held the IceDogs in check the rest of the way for the shutout victory.
The IceDogs next home game is Saturday, December 10th vs. the Kingston Frontenacs. The 10th is also the annual Teddy Bear Toss game, and we encourage all fans to bring new or gently used teddy bears to the game to throw onto the ice when the IceDogs score their first goal of the game.
Also, a reminder to all fans that tomorrow is the final vote for a new spectator facility in St. Catharines. Show your support by attending the city council meeting, which begins at 6:30pm.
