
IceDogs Acquire Kuhnhackl from Spitfires for Pavelka, Prospect and Picks

Niagara IceDogs General Manager and Head Coach Marty Williamson announced today that the IceDogs have acquired Tom Kuhnhackl and Windsor's 2nd Round pick in the 2013 CHL Import Draft from the Windsor Spitfires for Phillip De Giuseppe, Jaroslav Pavelka, Niagara's 2nd round picks in 2012, 2014 and 2015, and Niagara's 1st round pick in the 2013 CHL Import Draft.
Kuhnhackl is a 19-year-old left winger from Landshut, Germany and was a 4th round pick (110th overall) of the Pittsburgh Penguins in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft. In his second year in the OHL, Kuhnhackl has a goal and three assists in four games, after putting up an impressive 39 goals and 29 assists for 68 points in 63 games last season. At 6'2", 183 lbs. Kuhnhackl helps add offence and size to the IceDogs already deep forward core.
Headed to Windsor, Phillip De Giuseppe was the IceDogs 6th round pick in the 2009 OHL Priority Selection. Since being drafted by the IceDogs De Giuseppe has spent two seasons with the OJHL's Villanova Knights before attending the University of Michigan this year.
Pavelka is in his first OHL season, coming to the IceDogs from the Czech Republic after being selected by the IceDogs in the 1st round of this year's CHL Import Draft. In seven games with the IceDogs, Pavelka owns a 1-3-0-1 record, with a 5.37 G.A.A. and a .846 save percentage.
